There are 3 piers within Ban Phe Harbour all within short walking distance of each other where you can catch a ferry or Speed boat to Ko Samet from.
Most Ferries will take you from either Ban Phe or Nuan Tip Pier to Nadan Pier near Hat Sai Kaew. It doesn’t matter which one you choose from the mainland as they are both walking distance apart.
These services run daily from here every hour between 8am and 6pm costing 100thb for a single trip.
Return tickets can be bought but offer no discount. So to relieve any added cost if you lose your ticket it is advised to buy a single fare for each crossing. Travel time is 30-45 minutes approximately
Alternatively if you are staying in and around Ao Vong Duan, Ao Wai, or Ao Kui there are less frequent boats that will take you there directly. There is a timetable below:
From Ban Phe to Ao Kui (Pakarang) 09:30, 11:30, 13:30, 15:30
From Ban Phe to Ao Wai 10:00, 12:00, 14:00, 16:00
From Ban Phe to Ao Vongduean 08:30, 10:30, 12:30, 14:30, 16:30.
Costs vary from 100 baht for a one way ticket dependent on each location.
There are also speed boats available to take you to your specific beach location on Koh Samed. Prices can be negotiated and start from around 250 baht per person. The last official speed boat leaves at 6pm although new arrivals are seen getting off speed boats as late as 11pm on weekends.
